Busyness

When I began this blog, I thought it would be easy to type a little something each and every night.  But, I underestimated how busy I really am.  I am a wife, mother, grandmother, part-time preschool teacher, part -time network marketer and a babysitter for my grandchildren a couple days a week.  I try to visit the gym 3 or 4 days a week.  I like to read and am very interested in health.  I sew and am currently making stockings for everyone at Christmas. I also like to cook and try new things, when I have the time.  Finally, I am looking to resurrect the clown character that is inside of me.  Wow!  I really am busy.  No wonder I sometimes feel like I have so much to do that I don't know what to do.  I think I need to take a rest. See you another day.

Keeping it Simple with God

Today we had a guest speaker at church; who spoke about faith in conjunction with desire.
She spoke about keeping it simple.  When she first read the Bible, no one told her anything except that it was the word of God to her.  So when she read something; she just believed it was true.  There was no doubt or fear.  It was so simple; if God said it in His Word then it must be true.  So she would just act on it.  How I wish I could be like that. Life would be so simple and not so complicated.  If you're like me, you tend to analyze things first or you wonder how it could be.  We need to be as little children, so the Bible says.  It says in the Bible that God will give us the desires of our heart if we only believe.  We need to believe and then act.

Keeping It Simple

Today I was up at 6:00 a.m.  I made my carrot juice and then swept the kitchen floor.   I made rice krispie squares and a rice  salad.  I made my lunch, cleaned the bathroom and went to work at 8:30 a.m.  I worked until 4:00 p.m. Then, I came home and made dinner.  Our company arrived at 5:30 p.m.  We had a lovely time; dishes are finished and I am sitting here relaxing with my computer at 8:30 p.m.  What made the difference today?  I believe it was because I did not stress about my busy day.  I kept things simple from making the meal to tidying the house.  We need to think about what is most important in our lives and not stew about the things that don't matter.  If we can do that, I believe we will be much more productive.  At least, I certainly was today.

TV

Well, I just finished watching Dancing with the Stars.  What an incredible night!.  Who should win?  Max and Mel or Helio and Julieanne .  Who should go home?  Jonathan and Marie or Jenny and Derek.  All the dancers did an incredible job.  What a shame that it comes down to the voters.  Will they make the right decision?  I mean look what happened to Sabrina and Mark.  With all that said and done, I am voting for Max and Mel.
Then, there was the bachelor.  What a shocker that was.  But I think he did the right thing.  How can you make a decision just like that?  If he has strong feelings for both of them; then how can he be that in love with one of them; that he would ask them to marry him.  Bravo for him!

New Adventures

Have you ever stepped out on a limb and did something that you have never done before?  Well, I did today.  I have spent most of my life teaching.  I retired and then got back into teaching at a preschool and I do enjoy it.  But today, there was a need for someone to work in a retail, consignment store.  How hard can that be, I said and so I tried it.  I really enjoyed it.  I like meeting and visiting with people.  I sold a lady a sweater for her son for Christmas and it felt good.  Next weekend, they would like me to go to a craft fair and sell some of their wares.  I can't wait.  I know this wasn't a very hard thing to do; but it was a new experience for me.  Look out world, here I come.

The School Trip

My grandson is 4 years old and today I was lucky enough to accompany him on his school trip.  What a joy to see the children soaking up the information their teacher was providing.  This trip was to see the salmon swimming up river to spawn.  He was fascinated, as was I. To think that when the salmon are 4 years old, they travel from the ocean up river against all kinds of adversities and then find the place where they were born, within a few metres that is.  Next, the female digs a hole with her tail approximately 1/2 metre deep.  She, then, lays her eggs and waits for the male to fertilize them.  After this happens, both the male and female die.  At least, that is what I learned today at my grandson's school trip.

Never A Dull Day

Have you ever said the above statement?  I know I have.  It seems each day has its ups and downs.  Yesterday, my granddaughter didn't feel very well.  She is 2; she just wanted to be held.  She napped more than usual and seemed to be running a fever.  After a visit to the clinic, and the assurance that there didn't seem to be any infection, they came to visit grandma.  Today, her fever spiked and she was rushed to the hospital after having a seizure at home.  Tonight, she is back at home and doing well.
You just never know what tomorrow may bring; but we can be sure of one thing. It probably won't be boring.

The Party

Today was a great day.  My friend, Bonnie, had a birthday party for her son, whose birthday is Nov.13th and included me, too.  Yeah!  Today, is also my granddaughter's birthday.  She is turning 2. I had birthday cake with raspberry sauce.  Yum!
Now, tomorrow, back to eating sensibly.  No more sweets for this girl.
Health is actually very important to me.  I will need to be sure I drink lots of water to alkalize my body again.  Sweet foods cause a lot of acidity action.  If our bodies remain too acidic, it lowers your immune system and contributes to major health problems.
Look for more health info in the upcoming blogs.

Remember Me!

Today is my birthday!  Yippee!  Happy Birthday to me.  No, I am not about to reveal my age, but I will tell you, I have 4 grandchildren.
But on a more serious note, today is Remembrance Day in Canada.  My grandfather served in the 1st World War and passed away before I was born.  I encourage you to remember to take a moment to remember all those who have given their lives so we can enjoy the freedom that we do.
